Privacy policy
Lockwright (“the app”) is published by the operator of dexterity.works. This policy describes the desktop, mobile, and browser-extension clients. It is a community fork of PearPass. It is not a privacy policy for Tether Data, the Pears project, or any peer-to-peer relay you do not run.
Summary
Your vault stays encrypted on your device and is unlocked with a master password you choose. The app has no dexterity.works account, no advertising, and no analytics SDK. There is no operator-run cloud vault. When you pair devices, they sync peer-to-peer over the network.
Data stored on your device
- Encrypted vault contents (passwords, notes, cards, identities)
- Vault metadata needed to open and list vaults
- Pairing and device-sync state for the devices you have linked
We do not receive this data. Uninstalling the app removes it unless a backup you made, or a platform backup on your device, copies app files.
Network use
The apps request network access so devices you pair can find each other and sync. That traffic is device to device. dexterity.works does not host a mailbox of your vault. Hosts on the peer-to-peer path can see ordinary connection metadata the same way any internet path can.
Opening this privacy policy from the app uses your device’s browser.
The browser extension runs on pages you visit so it can offer to fill a saved login. Those pages are not uploaded to us.
Permissions
- Network — pairing and peer-to-peer sync you start.
- Clipboard / autofill (where the platform offers it) — fill a saved login when you ask.
The apps do not ask for contacts, location, microphone, or camera.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. Do not store other people’s credentials without a lawful basis to do so.
Changes
If a future version adds an operator-run sync service, accounts, or other collection, this policy will be updated before those features ship.
